The Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District has always built and maintained a park in Oak Park, and we can point you to some fantastic places to explore, such as the Medea Creek Canyon Trail and the Oak Creek Trail. The district also maintains many outdoor hiking trails and Medaea Creek borders the park itself.
The Community Foundation of Oak Park is a nonprofit umbrella organization that raises funds to support community activities and oversees a number of organizations where volunteers serve the residents of Oak Park. This helps to monitor the activities of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District and a number of other organizations that consist of members and other volunteers serving our community in many different ways.
The Oak Park Community Library is operated by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District and the Santa Ana High School District. The library next to the high school is operated jointly as a service for all students in the community.
Oak Park primarily shares a common history with other communities in Conejo, including Rancho Simi, Santa Ana and other parts of the San Fernando Valley, as it is located near Jordan Ranch and the nearby Santa Monica Mountains. Jordan Ranch covers more than 2,600 hectares and there is a park named after Louis Bojar and his late wife Mae. There is a model oak house, which has been inhabited for a long time and was built in the early 20th century on the site of a former cattle farm. This location for the house is just a short walk from Oak Park Main Street, Oak Avenue.
Like other communities in the Conejo Valley, Oak Park has always been committed to balancing residential and business needs with a number of beautiful parks, including a beautiful park, community center and many other amenities.
